Which records should be supplied?
Provide the current issued set, approved redlines, field records, equipment changes, cable or termination evidence and the document register. Identify records that are still preliminary.
| Input | Purpose | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Issued drawing | Starting revision | Current status |
| Redline | Proposed change | Approval source |
| Field record | Installed evidence | Date and asset |
| Equipment data | Tag and outline | Vendor revision |
| Register | Issue control | Supersession |

How should uncertainty be shown?
Use an open-item register and mark the affected drawing. Do not erase the redline or present the proposed condition as final when the supporting record is missing.
- Unverified field note
- Conflicting tag
- Missing approval
- Unclear route
- Open design deviation
Who accepts the updated set?
The drafter prepares the files, while the responsible engineer and project document controller decide whether the evidence supports issue and sign-off.
Common questions
What else should the bid team know?
Does PDF to DWG conversion prove the drawing is accurate?
No. Geometry, text, scale, layers, revisions and design intent need human comparison against the approved source.
Can a raster scan become editable CAD geometry automatically?
No. A raster image is a redraw reference. The resulting geometry must be recreated and checked.
Who approves a converted drawing for construction?
The responsible project engineer and document control team approve the design and issue status. A conversion service does not provide engineering sign-off.
